As the bride and the groom, you want nothing more than for your wedding to turn out perfect.
And yet, sometimes, no matter how careful you are in your Colorado wedding planning and no matter how large your budget may be, things can go wrong.
This is not to say that you should be pessimistic about your wedding and that you should only think of the worst case scenarios – but being prepared for them will help you tackle any issue with a lot more calm (and actually get it figured out).
So, what are some of the most common wedding day issues and how to tackle them as gracefully as possible? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.
· Wardrobe issues. You’ve spent months looking for, trying on, and waiting for the perfect dress. But on the morning of your Big Day, as you put it on, something cracks. This might feel like a desperate moment, but it is really important to keep your cool and find a solution. Reach out to your SOS sewing kit (which, yes, you absolutely SHOULD pack for your wedding day) and sew the dress back to its original beauty.
· Awkward toasts. In an ideal world, all the people who are giving toasts at your wedding will know the basic rules (short and sweet, no inappropriate jokes, and so on). When one has had one too many, though, things can really easily go South. Talk to your DJ or band leader and ask them to take over if any of the toasters are getting too far out of line, before they say (or do) anything that might embarrass everyone present.
· Surprise plus-ones. Some guests may not understand that only they are the ones invited, and they might bring along a plus-one you haven’t taken into consideration. Since you can’t actually turn them back (unless you want to fight with your friend or relative who brought them), the only thing left to do is smile and ask the venue to make room for another chair. Generally, it is a good idea to have a few chairs and a few extra servings of food into account – just in case anything like this happens.
