Crafting a Custom Bar Menu

Creating a bar menu for your wedding may seem like a small detail, but it serves multiple important purposes. Not only does it help guests know what’s available to order—whether it’s beer, wine, or specialty cocktails—it also communicates helpful information that keeps the celebration flowing smoothly.
For example, your bar menu is the perfect place to note when the bar will be closing. At Blackstone, we implement a soft close, which means the bar shuts down quietly without any announcements. The DJ is not allowed to announce it, and there’s no “last call.” This approach avoids a sudden rush at the end of the night and helps guests transition out of the evening more naturally.
You can also use the bar menu to display shuttle departure times. When guests are sipping and socializing, they’re not always checking their watches. Having this info directly on the bar menu helps them plan their final drink (and their ride) accordingly.
A well-designed bar menu adds visual charm to your bar setup, keeps things organized, and ensures everyone is in the loop. It’s one of those thoughtful touches that guests will appreciate more than you might think.
