A Wedding That Resonates

It's easy to get wrapped up in your wedding day. It's easy to think that every single tradition is important and that they all need to be represented on your wedding day. But sometimes it's hard to feel like a wedding filled with old traditions resonates with YOUR dream day! Val & Ryan, the couple featured in today's blog post, had one piece of advice for couples planning their wedding, "Chuck any wedding traditions that don't resonate with you and focus on what's meaningful to YOU." Val & Ryan did such a wonderful job doing this for their early October wedding. Val & Ryan wanted their day to feel like an extension of their personalities. They accomplished this by completely personalizing their ceremony with writing their script, vows, and choosing their own non-traditional ceremony music. In the table decor and flowers, they incorporated their great love for Colorado craft beer! They used beer growlers from varying craft breweries around the state. Something Styled, the planner & florist team for this wedding, used hops in the arrangements & boutonnieres. Another part of the day that resonated with their personality was the venue of Blackstone Rivers Ranch itself. Because so many of their guests traveled across the country to attend Val & Ryan's wedding, they wanted to show their guests what they loved most about Colorado: the outstanding Colorado Rocky Mountains and wildlife. Blackstone is an outdoor mountain venue so we offered JUST what they were looking for. Another bonus is that the venue, being as outdoorsy as it is, is still less than an hour away from Denver International Airport and the city of Denver! The most important part of Val & Ryan's wedding day, and the part the resonates the most with us, was how important the involvement of their family was to them. Val's brother officiated the wedding and he wore a maroon suit while doing so. Ryan's sister not only stood on his side of the aisle but she was even his Best Woman! The toasts that filled the tent with laughter and happy tears were given by some of their nearest and dearest. And best of all, they included their fur babies too. Val surprised Ryan with life-sized cutouts of their three dogs. How creative! This was truly a wedding that resonates. We hope it resonates with you as well. Thank you, Val & Ryan, for letting us share your story, and we hope you are enjoying your newest puppy addition.
